Sig Sauer P365 AXG Legion Second Generation Changes

Introduction

Since its introduction, the P365 AXG Legion has required different holsters than the P365 X-Macro. In a latent attempt to remedy this issue, Sig has made some tweaks to the grip module of the AXG Legion. These changes took place around January 2025, and primarily affect holster fitment.

The Changes

From our examinations, Sig made these changes:

  • The Gen 2 is shorter from the bottom of the pic rail to the top of the slide (1.54 in to 1.48 in)
  • The Gen 2 trigger guard is wider and less thick (.51 in wide and .14 in thick to .56 in wide and .13 in thick)
  • The Gen 2 has *slightly* deeper slide serrations
  • Our examples have two different models of mag catch
  • Other small differences, like location of text, plus the Gen 2 has better and cleaner machining overall

These changes are supposed to make the AXG Legion fit existing X-Macro holsters, but so far, our testing has shown that there are still some differences which will require us to change our holsters.

Below, you can use the slider to compare the differences in pic rail and trigger guard.

How To Tell Which Version You Have: Two Methods

Method One

Sig Started to make these changes in December 2024. After January 2025, the first generation *should* have been phased out, but I’m sure there are still Gen 1 AXG Legions sitting on shelves. If you bought yours recently, it should be a gen 2, but here is a way to tell:

Look closely at the above photos, specifically the pic rail. On the first generation, the pic rail juts straight out from the trigger guard, and it has a roll pin underneath where the slot for the pic rail starts. On the second generation, the pic rail blends upward from the trigger guard, and the roll pin is a bit further back.

Method Two

If you’re still uncertain, you can remove the right side grip panel on the AXG Legion with a T10 torx bit. If the number on the grip ends with “610,” you have a Gen 1. If you have a number ending in “868,” you have a gen two.

Here are some examples:

If you’re shopping for a holster for your P365 AXG Macro, ensure that the holster manufacturer supports the second generation AXG Legion in their holsters. At Werkz, we will be investigating how to ensure a perfect fit for all customers regardless of generation. For now, though, we have some work to do.
