Light Lab Quick Look: Cloud Defensive REIN 2.0 HC 18650

Overview

The Cloud Defensive REIN 2.0 updates Cloud’s popular rifle-mounted light with a smaller bezel. The REIN has long been regarded as one of the best rifle lights on the market due to excellent output, mounting options, and useful and durable switches. The 2.0 version reduces the bezel size, length, and weight. The light under test has their High Candela head and the 18650 body.

Summary

The REIN 2.0 continues in the footsteps of the original REIN. At the upper echelons of output, we have a hard time finding any manufacturer that reliably meets their specs, and Cloud Defensive is no different with the REIN 2.0. Cloud Defensive is using instantaneous max in their measurements, and our light almost met their spec for lumens, but didn’t come quite close for Candela. Color temperature is close to their 5200k.
