Streamlight TLR-7 Sub for Springfield Hellcat? Yes, please!

Update: As of 10/01/2021, we have holsters available at https://werkz.com/ These holsters are verified to work with the TLR-7 Sub for HCAT as well as the 1913 version using our key.

Streamlight has been shipping the TLR-7 Sub for a while now. It’s a subcompact version of their popular TLR-7A, and the Sub targets subcompact pistols (duh!). However, when they announced the sub, many people asked if it fits the Springfield Hellcat. Streamlight’s answer? “No, but the new TLR-6 model will.”

We have a TLR-7 Sub 1913 here at Werkz, and fit it up on the Hellcat with no rail key. It looks like it could work. So we jumped into CAD.

Within an hour we had a prototype rail key that fit pretty well. By the afternoon, we had gone through a bunch of revisions and come up with a key that fits nicely in the TLR-7A Sub cutout, and fits within the Hellcat’s slot… positioning the Sub super close to the trigger guard, but not touching. We shot a couple dozen rounds through it and everything stayed tight and together.

Before you continue, be aware that there are rumors that Streamlight is working on a key to release sometime this year. If you’re reading this article in late 2021, then you should first check with Streamlight to see if they have a solution for you. If not, then continue…

You might be wondering, how can I get the key? It’s right here… just download and print at your favorite 3d printer. We printed in PLA and it seems plenty sturdy to handle the recoil.

This is provided gratis, without warranty.

If there is enough demand for a holster, we’ll make those, and we can even include one of these 3d printed keys. If that’s something you want, comment below.

  1. Please put me down for the key and holster combo!! This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for!

  2. PLEASE, I don’t want to really pick the surefire XSC over this with price to performance taken into consideration. Lemme get that holster and rail key combo!

    1. You have three ways. Download the key here in this article. Buy a holster for the TLR-7Sub 1913 with Hellcat from Werkz (it comes with a key). Or some people may still be selling 3d printed versions of our key on eBay. Thanks!
